Indication of Herron Paracetamol:

Paracetamol is an analgesic and antipyretic drug.It is used for the relief of:
  • Mild to moderate pain
  • Fever
  • Migraine
  • Tension headaches

    Action of Herron Paracetamol:

    Parecetamol treats pain and fever via uncertain mechanisms. It is not an anti inflammatory.

    Dose advice of Herron Paracetamol:

    Available as tablets or syrup.Tablets:Adults (>12 years): 1-2 tablets every 3-4 hours. Max-8 per day.Children:(7-12 years)
  • 1 tablet every 3-4 hours. Max 4 per day.Children - Syrup:
  • 1-3 months (4-6 kg): 2-4 mL every 3-4 hours
  • 3-6 months (6-8 kg): 4-5 mL every 3-4 hours
  • 6-12 months (8-10 kg): 5-6 mL every 3-4 hours
  • 1-2 years (10-12 kg): 6-8 mL every 3-4 hours
  • 2-4 years (12-16 kg): 8-10 mL every 3-4 hours
  • 4-6 years (16-20 kg): 10-13 mL every 3-4 hours
  • 6-8 years (20-25 kg): 13-16 mL every 3-4 hours
  • 8-10 years (25-32 kg): 16-20 mL every 3-4 hours
  • 10-12 years (32-41 kg): 20-26 mL every 3-4 hours
  • Avoid if experienced allergic reactions in past to parecetemol.
  • Not for infants less than 1 month.
  • Seek appropriate medical advice if uncertain.

    Common side effects of Herron Paracetamol:

  • None
  • Overdose symptoms are important as excess parecetamol can cause liver damage and be potentially fatal. Symptoms develop within the first two days and include vomiting, abdominal pain, low blood pressure and sweating.
  • In cases of overdosage, immediately telephone the Poisons Information Centre on 13 11 26 or seek appropriate medical help.
