Jaundice
| Jaundice can be referred to as excess bilirubin production which causes a yellowish tinge of the skin and/or whites of the eyes. Caused by liver disease, obstruction of liver bile ducts or haemolysis. |
Jejunum
The jejunum is the middle section of the small intestine. The start of the jejunum is marked by a sharp bend, the duodenojejunal flexure. It is in the jejunum where the majority of digestion and absorption occurs. |
Jet Lag (Circadian Dysynchronism; Flight Dysrhythmia)
| Jet lag, also known as circadian dysynchronism or flight dysrhythmia, is a temporary condition that arises as a result of rapid air travel across multiple time zones. It is characterised by symptoms of disturbed sleep pattern, fatigue, insomnia and irritability, which develop because of the body’s inability to adapt to the new time zone. |
